As his first single (song) since Portraits, “Boots” was released on November 8, 2019. Greyson introduced this song as a “new chapter” in his music (career). The song was inspired by pop’s obsession with Cowboys and how “cowboy culture” is being misused by modern artists. Greyson talked with Ones To Watch about how the song is a tribute to his home state of Oklahoma and it “isn’t all about the style, it’s about attitude, obsessive loyalty and an unwavering wildness”. Greyson also talked to Popsugar about the song. The music video for “Boots” was released on the same day as the song itself. This is Greyson’s first song with Arista Records.
